Blues now favorites on Stanley Cup odds

With a first-round victory already in hand, the St. Louis Blues are now the favorites at the sportsbooks to come out on top in the Stanley Cup playoffs this spring.

The Blues have moved to 4/1 on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog entering action this week, putting them just ahead of the 5/1 Philadelphia Flyers – who knocked out the Pittsburgh Penguins on the weekend.

St. Louis got past San Jose in five games in the first round, and they’ll next take on the Los Angeles Kings in the second round starting this weekend. Los Angeles, who knocked out the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks, are at 6/1 on the latest Stanley Cup odds.

The Nashville Predators have also already advanced to the second round, and they’re at 11/2 odds to win the Stanley Cup after taking care of the Detroit Red Wings. The Preds will next face the winner of the Coyotes (16/1) vs. Blackhawks (18/1) series.

The postseason picture is much less clear in the Eastern Conference, where only the Flyers have advanced heading into the week.

The Boston Bruins (8/1) and the Washington Capitals (20/1) will meet in Game 7 of their first-round series on Wednesday night, while the Florida Panthers (22/1) will try to bounce the New Jersey Devils (25/1) from the postseason on Tuesday night.

Finally, the New York Rangers will be trying to avoid elimination on Monday night as they play on the road against the Ottawa Senators. The Rangers, despite being down 3-2 in the series, are at 10/1 at Bodog to win the Stanley Cup, with the Senators at 15/1.
