The Ducks finished with the best record in the Western Conference this season, but they don’t get an easy first-round matchup against the potent Stars.
Dallas actually won the season series against the Ducks this season taking two of three games. That includes two straight wins and a 2-0 victory in Anaheim the last time they met up in February.

Despite being the lowest seed in the West the Stars have upset written all over them. Dallas boasts quite the one-two punch with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, while netminder Kari Lehtonen has the ability to steal a series. Also in Dallas’ favor is their 5-2 record in their last seven homes game against the Ducks.
The Ducks did finish the regular season on a high note with four straight wins which included knocking off three Western playoff teams, Los Angeles, San Jose and Colorado. The Ducks’ big guns are obviously Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, but it will be interesting to see what Teemu Selanne can do in his NHL finale.
The Ducks are getting pretty good odds on the Bodog futures at 9/1, while Dallas is on the bottom rung at 50/1.
