Jackets at bottom of Stanley Cup odds

The Columbus Blue Jackets probably have just as much chance of winning the Stanley Cup with a lockout in place as they do with the NHL in full swing; they’re at the bottom of the latest Stanley Cup futures at the sportsbooks.

With NHL games cancelled through the middle of December, the Blue Jackets sit as the longest of the longshots at 150/1 on the latest odds to win the 2013 Stanley Cup at Bodog. Even the New York Islanders are well above them on that list at 75/1 odds.

The Pittsburgh Penguins sit atop the latest NHL futures at 8/1 odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bodog with no end in sight for the current league lockout, while the New York Rangers are next at 9/1 odds, and the Vancouver Canucks sit third at 10/1 odds.

The defending-champion Los Angeles Kings are fourth at 12/1 on those Stanley Cup futures, although their title defense might not come until 2014. Here’s a look at the most recent posted odds to win the 2013 Stanley Cup.
