Stanley Cup Odds: Hawks look to take over top spot

The Boston Bruins remain the favorites on the odds to win the Stanley Cup at the sportsbooks with the second round of the playoffs now underway, but the surging Chicago Blackhawks are looking to take away that top spot as they continue their march to another berth in the Stanley Cup final.

The Blackhawks are up 2-0 on the Minnesota Wild in their best-of-seven second-round series after they defeated them 4-1 in Game 2 of the set on Sunday afternoon. That has the Blackhawks sitting at 13/5 on the odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bodog with Game 3 of the series set for Tuesday night. The Wild are last on that NHL futures list at 40/1 odds.

The Bruins also get back in action on Tuesday night as they play on the road against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 of their second-round series. Boston lost Game 1 of that set but bounced back with a Game 2 victory on Saturday afternoon and sit as the 5/2 favorites on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog. The Canadiens are back at 17/2 on those betting lines.

The Los Angeles Kings are third on the current odds to win the Stanley Cup at Bodog at 11/2, and they return to the ice on Monday night on the road against the Anaheim Ducks with a 1-0 series lead in the second-round set. Anaheim, the top overall seed in the Western Conference, is back at 11/1 odds.

And finally, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers will resume their second-round series on Monday night as they meet at Madison Square Garden all square at 1-1 in the set. The Penguins are at 13/2 on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog heading into Monday’s Game 3 matchup, with the Rangers behind them at 8/1 on those NHL futures.
