The Canucks and Kings meet up in a first round series that will likely be determined by how good, or bad one sides goal tending is. Penguins Flyers Playoff Odds

This may be the best series in the opening round. The Penguins and Flyers don’t like each other and the bad blood could boil over in a seven-game series.

The Penguins and Flyers met up to close out the regular season last week, but don’t take too much from the Penguins 4-2 win in that contest. The Flyers rested both their top scorer, Claude Giroux, and their starting goalie, Ilya Bryzgalov, in that game.

The Florida Panthers are back in the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade but not many people are giving them much of a chance to go very far in the postseason.

The Panthers may be the No. 3 seed in the East after winning the Southeast division but they’re a +165 series underdog versus New Jersey at Bodog.ca. The Devils, who actually finished with 10 more wins and eight more points than Florida are a -190 series favorite.

The Senators are big underdogs in this series, but they could pull off a big upset if they dominate the Rangers like they did during the regular season.

At Bodog.ca the Sens are a +190 underdog in the series, while the Rangers are a -230 favorite. During the regular season Ottawa went 3-1 against New York which included a pair of wins at Madison Square Garden.

Penguins enter playoffs atop Stanley Cup futures

The Pittsburgh Penguins are only the fourth seed in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but they still sit atop the NHL futures at the sportsbooks to win the championship this spring.

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and company are the 7/2 favorites at Bodog on the odds to win the Stanley Cup as they get set to take on the rival Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the league’s playoffs this week.

Penguins march to top of Stanley Cup futures

With Sidney Crosby now back in the fold the Pittsburgh Penguins have moved back to the top of the Stanley Cup futures board at the sportsbooks as the NHL winds down its regular-season schedule.

The Penguins, back at 11/1 on the Stanley Cup odds at Bodog at the end of February, are now set as the favorites at 9/2 on that list. The Vancouver Canucks, who were the 5/1 favorites last month, are now second at 6/1 to win the championship.
